Rudaki and VAHDAT – 11 - 12 January, IOM Tajikistan in Rudaki and Vahdat hosted trainings on the use and maintenance of the new water supply, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) systems for staffs of medical institutions.
The training was also attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Primary health Care (PHC) in the city of Vahdat and Rudaki district.
Trainings were organized in the framework of the project “HUMANITARIAN SUPPORT TO CRISIS-AFFECTED AFGHAN NATIONALS IN PAKISTAN, IRAN AND TAJIKISTAN” funded by the Government of Italy.
The project's objective is to support Afghan nationals outside of Afghanistan and their host communities, to respond to their immediate humanitarian needs and work towards durable solutions for those who are displaced.
Within the framework of this project IOM cooperates with the UN Country Team to ensure proper alignment with the Refugee Response Plan (RRP) 2022 and with the Tajik national and local authorities involved in the implementation of the RRP, such as the Committee of Emergency Situations and Civil Defense of Tajikistan and Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Tajikistan.
IOM coordinates its WASH activities with UNICEF, the local executive bodies of state authority and local authorities in the target districts.
